Environmental Education

Education is the foundation for creating passionate environmental stewards and advocates. By fostering a deeper understanding of our natural world, we empower individuals to make informed decisions that protect and sustain our environment for future generations. The Shasta Conservation Fund is dedicated to providing engaging and accessible educational opportunities for all ages in Shasta County, inspiring a lifelong commitment to conservation and responsible stewardship.

Education in the Field

Getting students out in the field to do hands on learning is one of our favorite things to do!

Shasta Conservation Fund conducts field-based learning at sites such as the Lillian Nelson Nature Preserve, Horsetown Clear Creek Preserve, & other open spaces in the Redding area.

Activities during field trips can include:

Pollinator Mimic

Nature Journaling

Floodplain Model

Match Stick Forest

Macroinvertebrate Sampling

Are you a teacher/ interested party that would like us to organize a field activity with us?
